Mundekulla Festival
"Passing on the stick" - 25th Anniversary
August 9 -13, 2023 (LANGUAGE: SWEDISH & ENGLISH)
Organizer: Music & Mindfulness (Anna and Peter Elmberg) in collaboration with Mundekulla Retreatcenter
Welcome to a unique 25th Anniversary where we offer most of the best of the last 25 years! Deva Talasi (Dk) returns with her lovely Heartdance, Diane Patterson (USA) gives an acclaimed concert. Peter Elmberg & African Vibration is resurrected and not to forget "Magnus Circus School" for all ages and of course much more besides that. The festival team with Peter, Anna, JEM and Emma is intact and shares various features!
25th Anniversary on the theme "Passing on the stick"
25 years ago, the foundation was laid for a center that has developed into one of Sweden's largest retreat centers based on the motto of sustainability in every step. The festival has been a recurring event and this year we want to celebrate both the Festival and Mundekulla Retreatcenter. We want to celebrate and honor this while welcoming the new owners of Mundekulla Retreatcenter, hence the festival theme "Passing on the stick". Watch video about the change of ownership here.
The layout of the festival
Welcome to a weekend filled with music, meetings, Mundekulla dances, lectures, children's activities, mindfulness, dance, workshops and not least wonderful concerts with artists from near and far. The festival is spiced up by meetings across generational boundaries, national boundaries as well as city and countryside. It is an alcohol/drug-free event for all ages that has also received an award for Sweden's most environmentally friendly festival.
Many visitors have expressed their appreciation for Mundekulla's idyllic environment with spring lakes, sauna, cultural landscape, beautiful buildings with holistic thinking and rewarding meetings! As a participant in the festival, you automatically become an active co-creator rather than a passive audience and you are warmly welcome to come on your own.
A meeting place in time
We live in a time when many feel worried about the future, while at the same time a lot of positive things are happening where differences can interact towards a larger and richer whole. The negative news tend to capture us while we easily forget to see the constant hopeful developments taking place in the world around us. We do not close our eyes to the challenges we face but also see the opportunities that constantly surround us. The festival and Mundekulla as a whole have been a source of inspiration for many over the years and have offered many enriching meetings that have initiated other projects around the country, since its start in 1998.
